Miracles were a very important way of validating the authority of the prophets and those who claimed to be used by Jehovah in Bible times. That is precisely one of the reasons why the great prophets of the Bible performed them. Moses used them to prove to Pharaoh that he had been sent by God. Jesus was no different! He even went further by performing miracles that no other prophet had ever done just to prove he had the authority of God. Even history can not take this away from him. After he healed a blind man in John chapter 9, people confessed, ?Nobody has ever heard of opening the eyes of a man born blind.?(verse 32). The reason for all Jesus? miracles was for man to believe in God. ?...but this happened so that the work of God might be displayed.??(John 9:3). Miracles offered undeniable demonstration that Jesus had been sent by God. The miracles of Jesus offered proof that he was the Messiah, the Son of God who had been sent to save the world. Jesus always alluded to the power of God in all the miracles that he performed. In John 10:25 he said, ?I did tell you, but you do not believe. The miracles I do
