Los Salesianos y las Hijas de María Auxiliadora actualizan el Proyecto Educativo de San Juan Bosco y de Santa María Mazzarello, que desde la segunda mitad del siglo xix, intentaron «ser signos y portadores del amor de Dios a los jóvenes, especialmente los más pobres» tratando de que lleguen a ser «buenos cristianos y honrados ciudadanos». Extendidos por todo el mundo, ejercen su acción educativa en Centros Juveniles, Colegios, Escuelas de Formación del profesorado, Universidades, Parroquias, Residencias, Plataformas Sociales, Seminarios, Editoriales, Misiones y otras presencias al servicio de los jóvenes.
