VALÈNCIA, HOLLYWOOD, ITURBI (MOLINS CASAÑA, MANUEL)
Según un personaje de la obra, decir Valencia y Hollywood es decir Iturbi (1895-1980). Aun así, el gran pianista continúa siendo casi uno desconocido. Su figura, comparable o superior a la de Blasco Ibáñez, no ha tenido tanta incidencia entre los valencianos, a pesar de que algunas instituciones han intentado paliar el olvido. Prácticamente nada mientras no se recupere su legado sonoro y se estudie y se difunda a fondo su obra. Quizás hay razones políticas. O quizás es que la música pianística exige una atención y condiciones especiales. Al final, este texto, rehuyendo el biopic, se adentra por primera vez, desde la sensibilidad y el tratamiento del teatro actual, en la figura viva y contradictoria de Iturbi. Un artista que fue tan capaz de tocar magistralmente Mozart o Albéniz, como de acompañar a Groucho Marx tocando el bugui-bugui en programas radiofónicos.
