Enric Casasses Figueres (Barcelona, 1951). És poeta, dramaturg, traductor. Home de lletres. Ha viscut a Barcelona, l'Escala, Tenerife, Montpeller, Nottingham, Llumessanes (Menorca) i Berlín. Des de 1997 torna a ser a Barcelona. Recita habitualment l'obra poètica pròpia i la d'altri, i així ha contribuït a fer recuperar el caràcter oral de la poesia. Des del 1972 ha publicat una vintena de llibres, entre els quals destaquen La bragueta encallada (Druïda, 1972), Començament dels començaments i ocasió de les ocasions (Empúries, 1994 i 2007), Uh (Container, 1997 i Pagès Editors, 2007), Coltells (Llibres del Segle, 1998) i Que dormim? (Empúries, 2002), i un parell de discs de poesia amb música, El pa de navegar amb Manel Pugès (Zanfonia, 1999) i La manera més salvatge amb Pascal Comelade (Discmedi, 2006). Ha obtingut el premi de la Crítica Serra d'Or (1993) per La cosa aquella (Empúries 1991) i el Premi de la Crítica de poesia catalana per No hi érem (Empúries, 1993). S'ha convertit en un punt de referència dins el paisatge poètic català i el seu nom s'ha fet un lloc entre els imprescindibles de la literatura de les darreres dècades.

La influència de Harold Pinter ha estat determinant en la dramatúrgia catalana de les últimnes dècades. Vint-i-cinc anys d'evolució creativa separen els textos que presentem en aquest volum; amb tot, l'essència de la poètica el·líptica i alhora compromesa del premi Nobel es manté incòlume en tots dos. Si Vells temps (1971) presenta el conflicte que provoca en un matrimoni la visita d'una antiga amiga, Cendres a les cendres (1996) parteix del diàleg entre un home i una dona al voltant d'un antic amant. Es tracta de dues peces sobre la memòria líriques i melancòliques, que destil·len una gran dosi del misteri pinterià.

DESPRÉS DE LA PLUJA
En el terrat d'un gratacel de quaranta-nou plantes coincideixen oficinistes que han pujat furtivament a l'aire lliure per fumar, un plaer prohibit per l'estricte reglament d'empresa. Tots, tant secretàries com càrrecs importants, busquen un racó franc i anònim on poder extingir alguna cosa més que la pura ansietat de l'addicció. Del fons gris i impersonal de les grans corporacions financeres, emergeixen personatges incontrolablement angoixats i divertits, homes i dones que confessen pors, escupen odis o alliberen els seus maldecaps amb la mateixa lleugeresa que es desprenen del fum. Són moltes les veritats que es poden arribar a dir tot esperant la veriginosa arribada de la pluja, l'única extició capaç de redimir tant sofriment i conduir aquesta comèdia electritzant cap a un final goldonià rodó.
