Un llibre estrictament necessari: la primera aproximació biogràfica ambiciosa a un personatge cabdal en la cultura i en la política catalanes del segle XX, que va ocupar càrrecs de gran importància i va tenir un paper destacadíssim en la segona República espanyola. La biografia de J. M. Muñoz Pujol ens presenta episodis tan cabdals com la participació diplomàtica de Nicolau d'Olwer a la Societat de Nacions, la seva contribució al govern de la II República espanyola (i, des del govern, a la definició del marc autonòmic per a Catalunya), les seves relacions amb Manuel Azaña, les seves actuacions com a governador del Banc d'Espanya (i, des d'aquest càrrec, el paper que va tenir durant la guerra civil) o els seus exilis a França i a Mèxic. Però tampoc oblida el vessant humanista del personatge, les seves tasques d'historiador i de filòleg, en relació, per exemple, a la crònica de Ramon Muntaner o a la biografia d'Abelard.
Continuación de sus memorias recogidas en "Memorias de una joven formal". Aquí la autora relata cómo se libró de su circumspecto origen burgués para pasar a formar parte de uno de los grupos intelectuales más relevantes del siglo. Sus libros, Sarte, el amor, la libertad individual y los viajes se entrelazan en esta admirable autobiografía. Posteriormente escribiría la tercera parte con "La fuerza de las cosas".
Heráclito siempre ha tenido fama de filósofo oscuro. Era un sabio, sin lugar a dudas, pero su enseñanza sigue pareciendo de difícil comprensión. El tiempo, y las malas interpretaciones de su obra no han hecho mas que empeorar el problema. En esta obra ahondaremos en sus ideas acercándolas a la comprensión de cualquier persona. ¿Que es un sabio? ¿Que es un filósofo? ¿Hasta que punto nos es útil la lógica? ¿Por que Heráclito rechazó la tentadora proposición del soberano del mundo, el rey Darío? Estas y otras cuestiones las explicaremos con un audaz planteamiento, comparándolas con atemporales cuentos de oriente.
