En aquest llibre s'arreplega la versió definitiva, corregida i revisada, de tots els textos en vers o en prosa escrits per l'autor entre 1981 i 2017 sobre pintors, escultors, arquitectes i ceramistes. Es tracta de trenta textos de caràcter literari, narratiu o poètic presentats per ordre cronològic. Es manté l'idioma en què foren pensats i escrits. Molts d'aquests textos foren publicats en diaris i revistes o van servir per a prologar o epilogar alguns llibres i catàlegs d'exposicions (en aquest cas s'indica la referència bibliogràfica); altres textos són documents inèdits. El pròleg de Tomàs Llorens ha estat redactat expressament per a aquest llibre. L'obra ha estat planejada, revisada i acabada a la Universitat d'Alacant entre 2002 i 2019. El conjunt vol oferir una visió més o menys literària de l'obra i la poètica dels artistes ressenyats. Aquest és el segon volum que aplega articles de l'autor. El primer, titulat D'una festa que canta. La Festa d'Elx entre els segles XX i XXI (Alacant, 2017), reunia els articles sobre la Festa d'Elx. És intenció de l'autor seguir recopilant, revisant i publicant en forma de llibre, agrupats temàticament, els seus escrits esparsos i dispersos.
