This volume of cartoons follow Zach, a male zebra, and Zady his female friend, as they confront lions, big game hunters, tribal warriors, park rangers, poachers, crocodiles, and each other while navigating life on the African Savannah. Zach, a well intentioned, good natured but somewhat dim-witted fellow whose na‹ve belief in the inherent goodness of all creatures routinely places him in conflict with reality. Zady tries to guide and protect him when she can, but is herself hampered by sensibilities better suited to Rodeo Drive than the wilds of Africa. Zach works part-time in a hunter's trophy room and Zady busies herself trying to bring a measure of gentility to the otherwise wild environment of the African Savannah. To further complicate their lives, Zach's best friend, Winston, a wildebeest who never saw a situation he couldn't misinterpret and make worse, is always eager to involve Zach in his misadventures.
